
Rev. Marilyn Medley serves as the Pastor of Holly Grove AME Church in Windsor, VA where she strives to develop and implement sustainable ministry growth. She believes in what has been planted with her and is compelled to encourage others to “Love the people, and they will love you.”
Rev. Medley graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. Rev. Medley began her academic educational journey at Tidewater Community College where she received an Associate in Science Degree in Education. Rev. Medley received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in Education from Capella University.
Rev. Medley has worked in Higher Education for 34 years. She is currently employed at Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach campus where she is the Coordinator of Enrollment Services and an Adjunct Instructor.
Rev. Medley has always known that the hand of God has been upon her; and there has been a calling on her life. In 2013, she accepted her calling to preach. She accepted the call, and received the training she needed in order to fulfill that call. In September of the same year, she enrolled in the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. In May of 2016, she received her Master of Divinity.
Rev. Medley enjoys helping people and holds fast to the scripture text Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. These are words that she lives by and encourages everyone she meets to do the same.
Rev. Medley is the daughter of Mary Alice Hawley and the late Leonard Hawley. She is the widow to Clyde G. Medley, Jr. To their union two beautiful children were born, Clyde Lee Medley and Courtney Nicole Medley. Two joys of her life are two granddaughters, Tiana Nicole and Kaedence Marie. One of Rev. Medley’s favorite sayings is, “To God Be the Glory, for the great things He has done”.
